Beware of “Cloudcwc” and Similar Task Scams

Recent reports have identified a fraudulent scheme operating through the website cloudcwc.com, which presents itself as a legitimate way to earn money by completing simple online tasks. This operation exhibits multiple classic signs of a task scam, often combined with elements of pyramid schemes and Ponzi structures. Understanding the red flags can help you avoid falling victim.

How the Scam Presents Itself

Victims are typically recruited through friend or family referrals and invited to join a platform like Cloudcwc. The premise is that users can earn money by performing simple tasks, such as watching and liking a set number of YouTube videos each day, with promises of daily pay (e.g., $95 per day). However, to start working, new users are required to pay an upfront fee—in this case, $3,000—which is a significant immediate red flag.

Major Red Flags and Identifying Features

  1. Upfront Payment Requirement: Legitimate employers never charge you to work. Demanding a fee before you can start “earning” is a primary indicator of a scam. Your initial payment is the scammer’s primary goal.
  2. Recruitment Requirement (Pyramid Structure): Many victims report that they are forced to recruit others to join under them, or they risk being removed from the platform. This creates a pyramid structure where those at the top profit from those they bring in, rather than from legitimate business activities.
  3. Withdrawal in Cryptocurrency Only: The platform restricts withdrawals to cryptocurrency. This is a tactic used by scammers to make transactions difficult to trace and reverse. Furthermore, convoluted explanations are often given for this, such as a third party (e.g., a recruiter’s “auntie”) handling the cryptocurrency withdrawals despite allegedly having no technical knowledge, creating illogical and suspicious scenarios.
  4. Referral Codes and Private Access: The website requires an invite code to even sign up. This creates a false sense of exclusivity and community, making the scheme seem more legitimate and pressuring new users to join through an existing member’s link.
  5. Recently Registered Domain: A simple domain lookup reveals that cloudcwc.com was created very recently, on May 27, 2025. Scammers frequently register new domains to launch fresh schemes before a reputation can catch up with them, or to replace old ones that have been exposed.
  6. Vague Company Information: While the site may be associated with a name like “CloudBoost Technology Advertising Co. Ltd,” this information is often difficult to verify or belongs to a shell entity. The real business model is not transparent.
  7. Defensive Reactions to Questions: When potential victims or concerned parties ask logical questions about how the money is made or withdrawn, recruiters often become defensive, deflecting questions and pointing to vague, unverifiable sources (like an “auntie”) as the experts.

The Underlying Mechanics of the Fraud

This type of scam operates by paying out small initial amounts to early users, often using the money paid by new recruits (a Ponzi-like structure). This creates the illusion of legitimacy and encourages victims to invest more or recruit friends and family.

In reality, the platform is either a task scam, where the “tasks” (liking videos, clicking links) are meaningless and generate no real income for the user. The earnings displayed in your account are not real money; they are just numbers on a screen designed to lure you into depositing more of your own funds. When the pool of new recruits dries up, or when you try to withdraw a large sum, the platform will freeze your account or disappear entirely. Victims often find they cannot withdraw their “earnings” or even the initial funds they deposited.

How to Protect Yourself

  • Never pay for a job. If you have to pay to start working, it is a scam.
  • Verify websites. Check domain registration dates and look for official, verifiable company information.
  • Be wary of cryptocurrency-only payments. Legitimate companies offer standard withdrawal methods.
  • Question recruitment models. If making money depends on recruiting others, it is likely a pyramid scheme.
  • Research independently. Search for the website name plus words like “scam” or “review” to see if others have reported issues.

Investment – Social Media Advertising Investment

CloudBoost was promoted as an advance advertising company that boost algorithms on social media to get paid. We were instructed to do a 30 day investment and we were promised that we will receive our funds back. This was promoted as a legitimate business, they provided legal documents and funds to purchases real estate/property. This has been successful in the US for about 8 months. We had to communicate to Luisa through this link https://lt.laoqianf200.top/oBwH. We had a community group chat on telegram as well. Thousands of people has been scammed by this company. They have promising us deposits that never came. We completed our tasks on the original site https://cbbccs.com/ That site no longer works. They told us we were moving over to a new and improved site where we can complete less task and receive more money faster. They told us that we had to sign a 1099 contract, which was never received. They told us many lies that has impacted myself, my family, and many others. I am devastated and hoping that I can get my money back. They have took everything from us. I can provide all screenshots conversations and whatever else that’s needed. Most of all the transactions were done through cash app by purchasing bitcoin. This seems to be on a block change and cash app is not able to refund any of my funds. I don’t know what to do next. I am hurt. I have been scammed.

Employment – CloudBoost Imposter Employment/Crypto Scam

They recruit people to like video the tasks assigned will depend on what level your first deposit is, I joined as CB3 making $95 per day liking 20 videos. Later on they will ask you to bring in more people to join and you’ll get incentives for bringing people in. At first you can withdraw your earnings and they will do raffles it you join certain promotions or events with their two other platforms Cloudex and Cloudse. Every body was happy until they said we have to upgrade because they will suspend the old app. and with the subsidies that company is giving away they promise you a higher earnings every day but to get to that higher level you have to pay for upgrade fees half the price instead of $30k the company pay the half $15k it was a good deal now they promise wou will be making $1785 per day but when it’s time to withdraw the earnings they make an excuse saying we have transfer to the new platform and we have to pay another $55” to activate your account and you will be able to make a withdrawal. Because I wanted to withdraw I paid that $550 on top of $15k we already to pay for the previous event. That was Sunday they promise we all going to process withdrawal on Monday, they still did not let you withdraw unless you paid another $99.99 for tax processing blah blah. There were a lot of people jumping into it because they wanted to get their money back. Personally I had $10k invested in Cloudex and CBMAX $30k. They said it’s that on this new CB MAX the withdrawal will be a lot faster, They promised money will arrive in your Crypto between 48 to 72 hours, NO it didn’t happened they deleted the means of communications the CB PAYhub. They won’t answer your questions where as before they will answer you right quick. Also, they kicked out people if you ask them to give them an answer it was a complete mess!!! So be aware this is scam do not engage with them at all, they might change their name or go to different places to recruit new people. It’s too good to true Stay away from it.

The certificate of Registration of a Australian Company: CloudBoost Technology Advertising PTY LTD, Australian company number 681 367 340, A friend sent me the link for the app to review and research for a online job and investment. Everything looked legitimate with the Australian Registration certificate in place. I did the online training video and then was instructed to start the online task I would need to tranfer $1,350 USDC to start to receive social media task to perform for income. Everything was fine at first, the app showed I was earning about $95 a day for performing the social media task. I was then informed I needed to upgrade with a $510 USDC transfer to increase the task orders and this will increase the income. At that time I was ready to start taking out some of the income earned. That is when Luisa ****** would not approve my withdrawls and stated I needed to upgrade to CB Max app with another $550 to be able to withdrawal my money. Then another $1,500 was put into Cloud EX app for trading commodities, which withdrawls have also been frozen until more money is put into the app.

CloudCWC.com also known as Cloudboost Technology Advertising Co. Ltd is a scam. A recently created domain name. Domain Information from: https://lookup.icann.org/en/lookup Name: CLOUDCWC.COM Created: 2025-05-27 Low quality website. Two scams in one. Task scam and Pyramid Scheme. The website says to buy a “membership” in order to get access to tasks on different platforms like youtube, facebook, instagram, and X/twitter. An example of what the person trying to recruit others will say “Pay a one time fee of $3000 and watch 20 videos a day to get $95 a day”. Yet on the website it shows the “membership” lasts only 365 days. The website cloudcwc.com won’t be up that long, they will create another website once people realize the scam. For the task scam, the $95 is your own money being “paid” back to you, while you work for free, slave labor. If an influencer is paying CloudBoost for views and likes, then they are using slave labor while CloudBoost is collecting the money. The website only allow payments or withdraws in cryptocurrency so it is harder to trace or get your money back. A pyramid scheme is a fraudulent system where individuals pay to join, with the promise of making money by recruiting new members, rather than through the sale of products or services. These schemes are unsustainable because they rely on an ever-increasing number of new participants to pay the earlier members, eventually leading to collapse where most people lose their money. CloudBoost says to recruit others for a percentage of their funds, if you don’t recruit you will lose access to your account. https://www.reddit.com/r/Scams/comments/1lrpipk/my_relatives_are_involved_in_a_task_scam_but_its/ https://www.reddit.com/r/Scams/comments/1j7nbag/legitimate_task_job_or_task_scam/ https://www.reddit.com/r/Scams/comments/1jyptz4/us_how_do_i_convince_my_mom_shes_in_a_task_scam/ This is definitely a scam. They’ll give a little to start you off with promises of additional bonuses. They will get you to a certain level then make it where you have to continue to pay money in order to get to this pay that is at the end of the “set of data”. It’ll seem possible but it will only get more expensive as you try to push on. They will put you in groups on what’s app where the people seems to be normally and working well within the app/website. They will assign a coach and seemingly another recent hire to coax you along. They work in bitcoin so it cant be traced. I was in couldboost for around 5 months. From the beginning it always felt a little good to be true which is why I didn’t recruit people. I wanted to see how the company would play out in a year for me to actually bring people. When I first join in my manager luisa said that you can get bonuses for recruiting people and every two weeks she would try to encourage to bring new people. I just said I was looking into it but never really did. I tried to played it safe by getting the lowest tier you could and just use the earnings to pay the deposit for the next tier. Once I got to cb3 which earns you like 1500, my manager kicked me out of the telegram group and said that she’ll put me back once I showed that I was being serious in cloudboost meaning bringing more people. It was at that point where I knew it was a red flag and eventually just quit. I did make some profit and they did give me my deposit back but I had to annoyed them to do some. I think cloudboost is kind of like a ponzi scheme where it gets most of its income by bringing new people. Otherwise they wouldn’t be so insistent in bringing more people. However they won’t show their true colors unless some months have passed and you still haven’t recruit anyone. https://www.tiktok.com/@freeboy0682/video/7514844486699158814 https://www.tiktok.com/@thefinemama/video/7529970685943287053
